Can't get Audient ID14 to work with Audacity

Hi, it used to work, but for whatever reason, especially when I disconnect my ID14 from my laptop, it stops working. I have Windows 7 , Audient ID14 , a Shure mic and the latest version of Audacity. The setting on my control panel are Audient 1/2 by default, both for recording and playback. Audacity is also set to record and playback with Audient 1/2. I re-installed the latest version of Audient ID14. Also updated drivers. Still, I can’t record anything. No sound is going from my pre-amp to Audacity. I’ve spent hours/days trying to figure it out, reading blogs and everything, I can’t find why it’s not working anymore. When I look into the default recording device section, I notice that it doesn’t list the supported rates for my recording device. Does it mean anything ?

Look in the Windows Sound Control Panel in the Recording tab (no need to open Audacity for this).
When you feed a signal into the ID14, you should see a green meter against the corresponding device, jumping up and down in response to the signal. Do you see that?

No. I see it in the playback tab when I right-click and test it, but in the recording tab, nothing is happening.

Do you see it listed in the Recording tab?

Try shutting down your computer completely (not just “sleep”), then disconnect the ID14 and visually check the USB lead. Reconnect the ID14, ensuring that the plugs are secure in the sockets. Connect the microphone and boot up the computer. Wait until the computer is fully booted (if your computer has a light to show disk activity, wait for it to stop).
Set the levels on the ID14 and ensure that you see a good signal on its meters. Then open the Windows Sound Control Panel and check there again.

Do you see it listed in the Recording tab? - yes, and I made it my default option.

Will try re-booting computer and will let you know. Thanks for your help

Ok, here it is. I now have a good signal on my ID14 meters. (yeah!) . But still, in my control panel, the green meter doesn’t respond to the signal beside my audio device.

In advanced settings, should I be in ‘‘exclusive mode’’ or not ? Does it make any difference ?

In my Windows settings, should I be at 2 channels, 16 bits, 44100Hz or 2 channels, 24 bits, 44100Hz ?

Did you ever get it to work? I just got an Audient iD14…the meters move but no recording happening… they move when i speak or play a file… no recording at all…error message .9999 device won’t open… aloha joe t.

turns out my volumes were too low to hear or register when recording… on the device and its onscreen console. now all is well
