apply chain to files only displays 8 seconds

I have been using Audacity for years and have been using 2.1.2 on Windows 10. When you have a chain and want to apply it to files, it opens the file and displays the entire waveform while chain operation takes place. I recently tried to update to 2.2.1 and found out that when I apply chain to files it only displays the first 8 seconds of a file. I find this very annoying. Why? because one of the things I use Audacity for is to compress the audio so I do not have to turn the volume way up and blast my eardrums to hear soft parts (solution–compress audio!). You need to display the whole waveform to verify in process that you actually are getting the desired compression. (I have actually edited my chains multiple times to optimise this)
Version 2.1.3 on oldfoss is corrupted, so I can’t test on 2.1.3. I have only been able to test on 2.1.2, 2.2.0, and 2.2.1.
I’ve found that only 2.1.2 allows me to display the whole waveform when I apply chain to files.
I know this is not a life and death issue but it is an annoying feature of the update, which has caused me to roll my Audacity back to 2.1.2.
Please fix this issue for 2.2.2.
Thank you.

From looking at the Commit log it looks like one of the developers (Paul Licameli) has made a patch for this for 2.2.2: https://github.com/audacity/audacity/commit/0c8890cda16d2c918040b8af1d1d74a2d4e5082c

The issue was already logged as Bug #1793: Automatic zoom to fit of imported audio does not work in Chains
