Hello there!
I just downloaded Audacity 19.34 MB | version: 2.2.0 from https://www.fosshub.com/Audacity.html/a ... -2.2.0.exe
As suggested in MD5file.com to check the check sum SHA 256 I got the following details:
audacity.exe (application/x-msdownload) - 10315440 bytes
SHA-1 dd82a72246d7808c87595aacdf4b1cfdce76c8eb
SHA-256 95f7e1a8fab5e20048b233d0167122f0ff72a961044e253726bc4d2c9055b949

unins000.exe (application/x-msdownload) - 1013925 bytes

But in http://www.audacityteam.org/download/on ... /#validate there is To find the SHA-256 checksum: Audacity Windows Installer – 19.34 MB | version: 2.2.0
SHA256:adb0907d3be543f789bfa1dee10429d761ba858e320acf1b98ca5b4ef50b327a
which does not match with above SHA-256 95f7e1a8fab5e20048b233d0167122f0ff72a961044e253726bc4d2c9055b949
Have I downloaded the right .exe file?

The quoted sha256 numbers refer to the download file, which should be called "audacity-win-2.2.0.exe". Is that the file that you have tested?

I've tried it just now and I get:
Code: Select all
audacity-win-2.2.0.exe
adb0907d3be543f789bfa1dee10429d761ba858e320acf1b98ca5b4ef50b327a

and that matches the number quoted on both the Audacity website and the FossHub site.

Now I got the required checksum by choosing the file "audacity-win-2.2.0.exe" which I found in the Downloads Folder.
Thank You Steve. Your reply has made me in relief. Really appreciate your help. Cheers.
