HOW TO USE CLIPBOARD IN AUDACITY

I have AUDACITY 2.1.3, in Windows 10. . I want to save audio clips for editing purposes. So far the only way I seem to be able to do this is to literally save slips as individual files, bring them up and cut or paste when needed. Does Audacity have a separate Clipboard feature to store audio clips?

Audacity has ONE clipboard to store audio clips (when you cut or copy from one or more audio tracks).

What I sometimes do when I want to temporarily store multiple clips, is to add an audio track, move it to the top of the project window, and mute the track.
If I’m using a lot of audio clips, I may also add a label track below it so that I can label each of the clips with meaningful names.
