Can Playback Device options be changed?

On my audacity, the playback device says “speakers/ headphones.”

In Win 10 sound devices, I have speakers (built in); headset (shown as UE Boom 2) and headphones (UE Boom 2).

UE Boom 2 is a bluetooth external speaker. Charged, and connected to bluetooth.

Is there a way to get the UE Boom to show up in the playback devices so I can use it? When I had it connected, Win tones would come through the UE, but my Audacity playback only went through the speakers. When I disabled the speakers, and made the UE the default device, it didn’t play anything.

Bluetooth audio is often not very reliable for ‘continuous’ audio connections. However, if you want to try it, the best way is probably to make it the default device in the Windows Sound Control Panel and then launch Audacity and select “MME” as the host and “Sound Mapper” as the playback device.
