All recordings play back a semi tone low

Hi, im new :slight_smile:

problem:- when i record multiple tracks every track apart from the first track play back a semi tone low.

hardware:- Asus Laptop GL552vw with i7 and 1Tb HDD
Line 6 Tone Port GX input (with Pod Farm 2 software)

if i play along with the track previously recorded it sounds fine live but when played back together the second track is a semi tone low

any help would be great

Just a wild guess: try changing the project rate in Audacity to 48000 (see here for how to do that: http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/selection_toolbar.html)
Does that make any difference?

tried upping the project rate with no effect :frowning:.

Are you playing-back through the Line 6, or through your laptop’s soundcard? Can you play-back through the Line 6?

Sometimes the clock (oscillator) in a soundcard is a little off… You don’t notice anything if you record & play back on the same device, but if you record with one device and play back on another the problem shows-up.

using the same device for both recording and playback, its strange, the first track recorded is fine but all subsiquent ones are low making it impossible to play along with the first track while recording the second ect

I meant specifically to 48000 Hz. Have you tried that specific recipe?

yeah i tried at 48000, and a couple of other higher rates with no luck

I’ve noticed there are a couple of other posts on this forum about very similar symptoms, and they are all with Line 6 devices. It would be nice if we could get to the bottom of this.
