How do I find “another window”???
the message reads: my project “is open in another window”
Alt+Tab lets you switch between your open Windows.
tried that. my project does not show at all.
do you mean that it is telling me that the project is no longer in Audacity but is somewhere else in Windows??
Is this Windows-Speak for “Audacity is already running?”

You can’t open the same project twice. Use the window for that project that is already open. The name of the project should be stated top left of the window.
