Using windows 10 and latest version of audacity. Connected my guitar amp form headphones jack to line in on my computer. Can play guitar thru computer speakers just fine…but cannot make a recording using any of the settings.
Make sure you’ve selected line-in as your [u]Recording Device[/u].

Windows has separate recording & playback selectors/mixers, so you don’t always hear what you’re recording, or record what you hear.
my two choices for devices is Microsoft Sound Mapper and Stereo Mix (RealTek)
I think I got it. Thanks for the help. It was that last thing I hadn’t tried.
