Getting brick ceiling or limiter with new computer

Hi All,

Just got a new desktop- Windows 10, Installed Audacity 2.3.1 from the .exe installer, re-installed drivers for my Audient iD14, and for some reason I now get the following brick pattern anytime I get near a medium loud voice. I also notice that where the input device used to just say “Audient 1D14” it now says “Input 1/2 (Audient 1D14)” (or 3/4, 5/6, etc.) Any ideas?

…This is the 2nd time today that’s come up! See this post.

You’re recording to mono with only one of two “stereo” inputs being used. Each input/source is limited to 50%. If you use inputs 1 & 2 together, you should be able to hit 100% in your mono (or stereo) file.

I also notice that where the input device used to just say “Audient 1D14” it now says “Input 1/2 (Audient 1D14)”

That information comes from the drivers. Maybe the Win10 drivers are different from what you were using before, or maybe you’ve gone from 32-bit to 64-bit drivers, or something?
