  • Please state which version of Windows you are using, the exact three-section version of Audacity from Help > About Audacity and whether you obtained the .exe installer or the zip.

  • Audacity 1.2.x and 1.3.x are obsolete and no longer supported. If you still have those versions, please upgrade at https://www.audacityteam.org/download/.
The old forums for those versions are now closed, but you can still read the archives of the 1.2.x and 1.3.x forums.

setting source for timed recording

I am using Audacity 2.1.3 on a Windows 10 PC. I obtained Audacity form a download of the .exe installer.

Can Audacity open a url automatically for a timed recording?

I'm interested in setting a timed recording from a live stream and don't know how to direct Audacity to the source I want recorded.

I know how to record from sources that I select when I'm at my computer.

Thanks very much -- I think Audacity is a great resource.

No it can't, but you may be able to schedule your web browser or a media player to open a specific URL at a specified time, either with the Windows Task Scheduler, or with a third party scripting application such as "AutoHotKey".
