Perhaps this is out of the norm, but I have a 9 hour audio file that I’d like to save. It’s been my past practice to export audio as a wav file. But I can only get 1.5 hours of length. What format will give me the ability to save the 9 hours?
WAV and AIFF do not support more than 4 GB file size.
If you want lossless quality, either choose FLAC, or “Other uncompressed files” then the RF64 header with 16-bit encoding (assuming you were exporting 16-bit WAV before).
FLAC will be about half the size that WAV or RF64 would be. Windows Media Player / Windows will play FLAC on Windows 10 without extra codecs.
