I recently had to reload my Audacity software (used CD). Finally got it up and running and recording. Here’s my new problem. The sound is muffled and distorted. How do I get the sound to record clearly. This is a new issue… I’ve used the program many times with no problem. Now that I had to reload it (due to computer problems) the sound is not right. What do I need to do, running Windows7. The recording levels are fine, just muffled…Please give me detailed instructions in basic computer language…Not an expert at this stuff. Thanks.
Since you had Windows problems, it’s better than even chance your Windows Sound Services got reset. What you have is one of the symptoms of “Enhanced Services” or conference call noise suppression.
This could appear in many different places, but this is the most common.
