how to disable plugin scan at Audacity startup:suggestions/instructions howto please.

btw,unchecking scan box under preferences not working.
Edit menu > Preferences > Effects.
Disable (uncheck) VST effects.
(If the scan occurs each time that you start Audacity it is because you do not have any VST effects installed, so you don’t need Audacity to keep looking for them).
