I didn’t find this question or answer in the FAQ, so…
I am using Audacity version 2.0.0 on Windows 7 with SP 1. I am working on a school presentation about Auditory Processing Disorder (APD), and I would like to use edited recordings of people speaking to illustrate what someone with APD might hear. I have my recordings, and what I want to be able to do is to completely chop out any sound above 2000 Hz, or below 500 Hz. I am trying to simulate a situation where the patient cannot hear many of the consonant sounds, like “s” or “ch” or “z.” I tried to use high/low pass filters, but the result that I got was only to make the whole recording quieter, and not to actually chop out anything.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Thank you.
