Does not recognize high pass chain application and crashes

Hi:
I have uploaded the most recent Audacity version. I deleted the old version from my computer. I record a file and try to apply a chain (which a very tech savvie and experienced friend created) and it says it doesn’t recognize the high pass application in the chain.
Then it locks up and crashes. Every time. This is really annoying and I cannot figure out how to get things back on track. The recording quality is good, but I can’t gate, or apply other effects for optimal performance.
I’m a pro voice actor and this is a real drag when I have projects due and am stuck.
Any help is sincerely appreciated.
No topic in the glossary covers this.

Thanks!

There is a bug regrading Chains which we unfortunately found just after releasing 2.2.0. It is fixed for the upcoming 2.2.1 release.

Reverting to 2.1.3 should fix the problem - see this related thread: https://forum.audacityteam.org/t/short-cuts-for-chains/47323/2

BTW you can have more than one Audacity version on your PC at a time provided you install them in separate folders but you can only run one at a time though.

This is the bug report: http://bugzilla.audacityteam.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1770 Crash applying certain chain files

Thank you very much!

There should be a Release Candidate for the upcoming 2.2.1 available soon - so keep your eyes peeled.

You may want to try your chain with that test build (that would be helpful for us to know if it works for you or not).
