headphone amp

please move as needed. can I connect a headphone amp between a computer audio line out and the tv line in in order to feed the tv a louder volume so the tv volume and computer volume are the same? or is a line level 15 db gain pre amp a better approach? the amp could be connected to either the on board line out or the pc to tv converter pass through line out. advice please. I need a cheap and simple solution. the pass through signal is just a little too low.

A headphone amp seems like a reasonable fix.

or is a line level 15 db gain pre amp a better approach?

I’m not sure where you’d find that (unless you can build it) and do you really think you need 15dB? …15dB is on the low-side low for a microphone and rather high a line-level preamp

Or, a small stereo mixer is usually cheaper than a stand-alone preamp (and you don’t have to actually mix). You’d have to make sure that it has line-level inputs (switchable mic/line inputs are common) and that the line inputs actually have gain (not just adjustable attenuation).
