Playing Jamlab device through Audacity????

Hey,
I recently got a jamlab hookup for my computer, which is suppose to allow me to record my guitar directly though the computer… BUT i can’t figure out how to make it work through audacity. I have been using audacity to record with a computer mic and that has all worked out good, but i can’t get it to record with the jamlab device.
The scroll down menu that allows you to choose which device you’re using isn’t on my program. i can’t hear anything, and i can’t figure out how to fix it. PLEASE HELP ME!!! If anyone knows what to do PLEASE LET ME KNOW :unamused:

thanks lbgurl

  1. Ensure that JamLab is connected and recognised by Windows before you open Audacity.
  2. Ensure that you have WDM or MME drivers installed for JamLab (the standard release of Audacity does not support ASIO drivers).
  3. “Edit > Preferences > Audio I/O” check if there is a USB audio device available for the Recording input, if there is, select it.

If there is still no USB audio device available in “Edit > Preferences > Audio I/O” then Audacity probably does not support the JamLab drivers, however it may still be possible to get it working if you have more than one sound card.
For example, if you have both on board sound, and a PCI sound card, select the on-board sound card as the output for JamLab (check that it works).
Connect a stereo audio lead from the line output of the onboard sound card and connect it to the line input of your PCI sound card.
Set up Audacity to record from the Line input of your PCI sound card.
