Keyboard transport

Hi all,

I can map play and pause to the keyboard keys I want but I don't see reverse? Is reverse available? I typically follow the video standard of the J-K-L keys; J is reverse, K is pause and L is forward.

Thanks for this great software!

Regards,

Chuck

I didn't think there was a reverse play. Do you know there is and you're just trying to assign a key stroke?

You can achieve Reverse Play by using Scrubbing - and indeed you can use it to get Reverse Play at varying speeds.

See this page in the Manual: http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/scru ... eking.html
But note that the userr interface for scrubbing is due to change in the upcoming 2.1.3 release.

But I don't think there is any way to set a shortcut for that.

You can always use Effect > Reverse and add a shortcut to that effect in Keyboard Preferences.

Building on Gale's suggestion ...

You could also duplicate the track, reverse that track copy then use the mute/solo buttons in the Track Control Panel to manage which of the two tracks (forwards or reverse) plays.
